I love my hubby!

What a thoughtful boy... I went to Altus this weekend, and arrived late Halloween night. When I got there James had a surprise for me. He bought beautiful yellow Gerbera Daisies; which he thought were sunflowers, and had them sitting on the night stand with my favorite candy (sour patch kids) and a bottle of sparkling grape juice, on ice! Oh, you want to know why he did that... NO REASON! Just because he is the greatest man in the world and I love him so much!!!

Tickle from the inside!

Wow, for the very first time I felt the baby move. I knew what it was when it happened mainly for the pure rush of emotion that came with it, its like he was telling me... hey I'm in here! The physical feeling of it was very subtle, just like a light tickle. But the emotional feeling was awesome, it felt just like the first time James kissed me (with my mom standing 10 feet away) I had butterflies in my stomach so bad and I was frozen stiff with a rush of emotions. I absolutely love feeling baby Wyatt moving around in there. Everyone says I will get tired of it really soon, but I really doubt it! Also on Saturday (1 NOV) James was able to feel where the baby was lying. What a feeling, I can't wait for James to be able to "play with the baby" through my belly! I love my little family!!!!

19 Weeks!

So I am 19 weeks pregnant this week and am getting bigger! Everyone keeps telling me I am carrying high and thinks I am having a girl... we will find out for sure on Monday. Either way, we are excited. The little pumpkin is Wyatt's personal pumpkin this year... you may not be able to see it but the curly steam look like an umbilical cord, for a pumpkin! Stay tuned for more updates!

GARAGE SALE

I thought I would be adventurous and host my very own, very first yard sale! WOW, what a mistake!! It was the hardest thing I have ever done, my nesting phase of pregnancy must really be kicking in, everything is trash and I can't stop cleaning and organizing. These are all good things considering we will be moving in a few months but really the Yard Sale was over kill! At least we made some money and got rid of a lot of stuff. Everything that did not sell I took to Charity and what did sell that money goes towards my nursery decorating budget so all in all it was really good and much needed but A LOT OF WORK!

Thank you Smoak!

Today... while conducting my yard sale, I received a package from Chris Smoak. For those of you who may not remember him, he graduated from UGA ROTC with James and was part of the sword arch at our wedding. He has also been through training with James from FL to OK! He has been a great friend to us and will be flying U-28s out of Hurlburt (Fort Walton, FL). Anyway, he went to the UGA bookstore and bought our baby Wyatt the most adorable Georgia outfit, actually Wyatt's FIRST UGA outfit. Thanks again Smoak, we hope to see you soon!

James in Altus

Most of you already know, James will be training to fly the C-17 in Altus, OK. It is not too far (3 1/2 hours one way) but it still is not close either. He will be training on the C-17 until the end of January. We are, of course, very excited as every day we are closer and closer to moving to Charleston! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers and know that he will have limited accesability to phones and internet as he is STILL in a training environment! I will be so happy once we are done with the AETC and all of his training... I know he will be too!

Ellison Camping Trip '08

We were feeling a bit adventurous this weekend an thought we would go on a last minute camping trip. While we did not plan and organize very well, the trip actually turned out great! It started with me driving to Altus on Friday to meet James, which was nice since I had not seen him in a week! James called around and found a few campsites. We ended up going to Lake Latonka (about 45 mins from Altus) and it was so beautiful, way prettier than I ever thought Oklahoma could be! We brought Frankie and Lola along to see how they would do and surprisingly, they did well! Lola did eat he weight in SAND and Frank go a bit on an infection (probably) from the water, on his recent neuter surgery. Aside from that it was really a fun experience. After our night in the woods (on the lake shore) we decided to visit the Wichita Wildlife refuge which was not far from where we were and on the way back to Altus. There are Buffalo, Long horns, Prairie Dogs, Mountain Elk and all kinds of big game walking around on this refuge AND... there are no gates or fences, so you are right next to them! Have you ever seen a buffalo in person, how about 20 feet away?! There heads are bigger than my car.... not really, but close! At one point I was out of the car taking up close pictures of the prairie dogs when James was yelling at me to get in the car, well I didn't realize it but there was a heard of longhorns running my direction! I think they were just ready for their closeup... It was a very educational journey and we had a nice picnic in the woods on the refuge before we headed back!

Okay it's final... we have a theme!

So after running a million ideas through both mine and James' head this weekend, I thought my head would pop! I looked to the pros, to see how celebrity designers where creating these amazing nurseries for the rich and famous. Seems like everyone was universal on one thing... the first thing that you need to decide on is the fabric and bedding. From there it will be easier to create a theme and color scheme, where as I had a color scheme and paint and was ready to go! At least I thought, I would have never found a bedding set to match the room I was creating. Now that I have a set that I actually like (go figure) the colors are very similar to the inital "mad hatter" theme and I love the preppy look of it. I am having a hard time uploading the photo for some reason, so follow the LINK to the Land of Nod!

Baby Nursery Idea Part II

For those of you who really know me... this should come as no surprise! We may have changed our mind on the baby's nursery decor. While, the color scheme will most likely stay the same I think we are going to change the characters! James pointed out that neither of us have any affiliation with Alice in Wonderland and there are other things we like more and can still keep the same color scheme. So, that is what we are doing! As soon as I draw up another design that I like...I will post it! Stay tuned, you never know with me we just may go for a black and white nursery theme... after all those are the two most stimulating colors to a baby's developing brain!

In Escrow...

We officially have a contract on a house in North Charleston! We are very excited, but know better than to count our "chicks" before they hatch, especially in today's economic crisis! Anyway, for your viewing pleasure we have attached some photos! Yay, we are so excited for our upcoming move.

Baby Nursery Idea

If you have any ideas, thought or input... please do share! I know we don't yet have a house, but I am determined to have a nursery prepared for my son before he arrives. Initially (before we knew the sex) I thought I wanted a very "okie" western style nursery for a boy... I think I've been in OK too long! Now that we are set on WYATT JAMES, I don't want him to always be associated with the wild wild west, that may (or may not) fit his personality. Since it was brought to my attention the nursery is mostly for the mother and the early development of the child, I have changed it up a bit. Once Wyatt gets a bit older if he decides he wants a wild west bedroom we can make that happen, as for his nursery we are going with a whimsical scheme inspired by the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland! It may sound a bit feminine and quirky (I know) but the main colors would be green, orange and blue. I colored pictures all day today to show you all with doubts. Yes, I created this picture and hand colored it... I am also available for hire!!

We have a name...

As most of you know I have had a lengthy list of baby names since the age of 10! Since James and I have been married every time the discussion of baby names came up we always agreed on a boys name rather quickly and not so much on a baby girl! We decided a few years ago that our first son would have his father's name as his middle name, so no matter what the first name was his middle name would be James. A name that James suggested a few years ago was Wyatt, I really liked Wyatt but not matched up with James. Now that we are pregnant, I think it is the perfect name for the little baby growing inside my belly! WYATT JAMES ELLISON... it has a nice ring to it, don't you think?! Don't worry in case by some chance there is actually a baby girl growing, we have a name for her too!

And the sex of the baby is...

(Drumroll Please)... It's a Boy!! YAY, looks like everyone was correct in their thoughts that we were having a boy. We are very excited and would have been excited either way. It was rather crazy, the Dr. placed the instrument on my belly after putting all that jelly on me and the first image that appears was a butt, the back of two little legs and what looked like a wee wee... basically the baby was sitting right there! I asked if that was a boy and he said he would have to look around more to make sure it wasn't something else, sure enough we were able to leave with an 80% chance (quote from Dr. McFadden) that it was a boy! At the next visit we will have a 100% confirmation. So, don't go blue crazy just yet... plus I think our baby is going to be more into green and orange. These have become my two new favorite colors since pregnancy... who knew?!

Baby Wyatt's First Outfit!

Thank you so much to Courtney and Ty, they bought baby Wyatt his first baby outfit. The outfit is two little Pooh bear onezies size 0-3 mo! I cannot believe how tiny babies are... They also threw in a little gift for me for my birthday! Once again I have forgotten to send Courtney a birthday present, since we are practically twins but don't worry I'll make it up to her! Thanks again to the Batemans, we love you guys!
