OMG... Where are my ankles?!

Going from a rather peite size frame to a 9 month prego frame has really been rather shocking, to say the least! A lot of changes are occuring; most of which I expected... wider hips for example! One thing that I did not expect was to find myself in a situation where I was looking for my ANKLES!! I typically have rather small boney feet... not any more! Even with all of the sports injuries I've had my ankles have NEVER been this large! Take a look and get a good laugh for yourself, yes its at my expense BUT totally worth it!

Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital

We are delivering at a wonderful Charleston area hospital (St. Francis), never mind the heart ache it took me to get here... WE ARE HERE!!! Our Doc is Dr. Baird of Charleston OB/GYN, she is a wonderful lady and comes very highly rated in the baby world!

If you are planning to attend the birth of our bouncing baby boy, you will need to know how to get to the hospital... luckily, it is just off the interstate and only 14 miles from our house! The address is below: please mapquest it for directions and if at any point you get lost or need further directions you can always call James, I'm not sure you will want to speak with me at that point in the game :-)!!!

Baby Wyatt's 36.5 week Ultrasound...

We went to the doctor today for what I would say was the longest Dr. appointment ever, we were there almost 3 hours! We were able to get an ultrasound of Baby Y and the tech said that he is weighing in around 6lbs. 8oz. that number can be on the low side up to a lb. However, it is not likely that he is over 7 lbs. right now. Also, she was able to get a few 3-D face shots of Wyatt, he is going to be so handsome... She was not able to get very many detailed pictures of him as he is very large and doesn't have any space to move around. He is head down and still... ready to go! Hopefully he will wait until I reach 37 weeks... that will put him at full term and all but eliminate any risks! The last picture is of his nose and lips, he is so CUTE!! We did get a bit of a scare today... The doctor put me on a NST (non-stress test) to make sure there were no additional complications or problems at this point. In doing so they monitor the fetal heart beat as well as contractions. James was reading to me "when to call the doctor" and going over false labor vs. true labor. As he read everything about true labor he realized that I was in it... I believe at that same time so did the nurse. A 15 minute test turned into an hour long test and almost a trip to the hospital. I was contracting every 4-6 minutes and they would last 30-45 seconds each. The only problem (not for me!) was there was no pain... I thought, if this is labor... NO BIG DEAL! Finally the Dr. concluded that due to his size I was having regular contractions?! I am not sure what that means, but my main take away was... no baby today!

We will keep you posted on any fun new developments!

Baby Y Y's Nursery Update...

I have taken a few photos to show you all our baby shower gifts in action! I will wait until the room is complete before I post the whole room again. My mom and brother ordered us the chair and that is the last thing to finalize Y Y's nursery! I hope you love the photos as much as we love all of our gifts, I cannot imagine having a baby with out the love and support of our family and friends. We love you all!

More pictures to come soon... stay tuned!

March for Babies...

Some of you may remember that last year I did a March for Babies in Oklahoma City, I was able to raise $250 with the help of most of you. This year I am walking again! It all takes place on April 25th and this time I will be walking as a MOM!! How crazy is that? I figures since I raised $250 last year I would try and double it this year! Another way to help reach this goal is by obtaining more team members. If you would like to join and think you can be in Charleston that weekend, please join our team. Visit our website for more information www.marchforbabies.org/charlestonbabies
This is one of the few philanthropies that I feel strongly about. If you are able to sponsor me on this walk I will greatly appreciate it, I will walk all 3 miles with the biggest smile on my face and who knows maybe Wyatt will even walk with me!

As you may know all proceeds got the the March of Dimes foundation which then takes that money to put towards research on premature birth; they also help mom have full term healthy pregnancies resulting in healthy babies.

Please take a look on their website for more information about the foundation http://www.marchofdimes.com/

Happy Birthday Amanda!

We had so much fun spending the day at the zoo... thought it was pretty cold out! It had been a long time since I went to the Atlanta Zoo and Amanda and Mel had never been, since it was the birthday girl's choice for activity... off to the zoo we went! I am not sure they were ready for us, all I know is we had a great time. I think I want to be a zoo keeper... maybe being a mom will be adventure enough?! :-)

Baby Wyatt's Shower

Wow, what an amazing weekend! I had such a great time and with all of the help and support from my mom and Amanda... and of course her sis Mel I managed to keep my cool!! It was even more perfect than I pictured it in my mind, I am sure you are all thinking... its only a shower! Well in my "planners mind" its so much more than just that! PLUS, this is my very first baby and I want EVERYTHING to be perfect for Wyatt! So again thank you to everyone that helped plan, Bonnie for bringing food, and EVERYONE for attending! I hope that each of you had as much fun as Wyatt and I did! We played Three games and had Three winners... they are as follows:
1. Create a baby from magazine pieces - NADIA

2. Break the water - BRITTNEY

3. Measure mommy's belly - NICOLE

Just because you didn't win, doesn't mean you didn't do an amazing job! I loved all of your artwork, humor in getting the babies out of the ice cubes and even having you all try to guess how big around I am!

I have a few photos here, but am hoping to get more from others that were there since I did not get to take many pics!

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's day and were able to spend it with the ones you love! James and I had an amazing day... sorry no photos! But we started with a nice home cooked breakfast which we ate on the front porch and enjoyed each other's company while watching the rain! Later that day we had sushi for lunch (mine was veggie!) and topped of the evening with an amazing surf and turf home cooked meal courtesy of my amazingly handsome chef, JAMES!

The Ellison Gang in Charleston...

First off let me start by congratulating my wonderful husband on finally becoming a C-17 pilot. It has been a very long road for him, and it continues to be so... but at least now he knows what he will fly until he chooses otherwise! We had a small get together at our new home in Charleston to congratulate James on his accomplishment. Most all of the Ellison family made it and good friends Clif and Ansley were also able to come. We all toured downtown Charleston and had a nice walk from the Battery park to the Market and back. I am not sure how many of you have made that same truck... but doing it 8 months pregnant... I really thought I was going into labor! Know I can understand what strong contractions feel like as apposed to B. Hicks!

Due to weather in Oklahoma, I had to postpone the party from Jan 31st to Feb 7th which caused some problems. There were a few people that were planning on coming the 31st, but were unable to make it the 7th... sorry to change the date so last minute! We even had a good friend, Smoak, fly up from FL to surprise James only to be a week early... so instead Smoaky and I had a great weekend in Charleston! My dear friend Amanda and her husband Tony also cam eon the 31st, since we would be deploying to Iraq the next weekend and it would be the last "vacation" he had for 7 months.
